The Department of Biomedical Informatics at Stony Brook University has a key role in delivering innovative informatics concepts and implementations to enhance scientific investigations and healthcare delivery as well as to train next generation of biomedical informatics researchers. The department drives the development of novel open source Biomedical Informatics concepts, methods, and tools through synergistic activities with biomedical researchers and healthcare teams at Stony Brook and elsewhere.
