Though Mifos recently released a client facing API to enable clients to interact with their own data through self service channels. Previously all client operations were performed by a back office staff. Last year, Mifos built a self-service android application which enables clients to authenticate themselves, view and edit their account details, make repayments or transactions between their own accounts. This application is a major breakthrough as it puts direct mobile banking in the hands of microfinance clients who use Mifos. As with every great product, there is a lot of room for improvements or enhancements.
