In this proposal, we are trying to use CNNs and complex Computer Vision methods to perform autonomous tasks using a small form factor companion computer onboard a UAV. We pitched three ideas for vision-based autonomous task onboard a UAV (i.e. Human-UAV interaction, Return to home in a GPS denied environment, path-trail following) and briefly described the general approach for each of these ideas. We also considered our limitations and workaround for compensating them as much as possible.
