XIP and TCP/IP can interoperate with each other by encapsulating the XIP packets as the payload of the IP datagram , which can be tunneled through the IP networks and can be extracted and processed further by hosts at the end of the tunnel .The U6ID principal encapsulates XIP packets in IPv6 UDP datagrams .
