This project will implement the following paper, "Importance Sampling of Many Lights with Adaptive Tree Splitting" by Alejandro Conty and Christopher Kulla. This method reduces the time for Blender's in-house renderer Cycles to generate images of scenes with a large number of light sources in them. This gives more freedom for the lighting artists to create the scenes they imagine without having to worry about performance.
