Novel Applications of Zstandard (ZSTD) compression algorithm to ROOT

This project aims to investigate application of ZSTD within the ROOT framework; benchmark it in comparison to the other algorithms; test it against real LHC data files; and investigate schemes to integrate dictionary-based compression in ROOT files. This will require careful analysis, research and benchmarking through all the stages of the project in order to ensure that the proposed changes are properly verified, documented and result in well-defined benefits for ROOT.
