The project aims to enhance CERN Storage's backup orchestration system, CBACK, by introducing a Scheduler Agent to dynamically manage job agent creation based on service demand. Leveraging database triggers for real-time responsiveness, the Scheduler Agent will analyze changes in the internal database and spawn agents as needed, boosting scalability. Moreover, modifications will enable containerization of existing agents, facilitating seamless integration with Kubernetes-based environments. Additionally, enhancements will enforce scope limitations within file mounts using cephx keys to strengthen security and control over data access. Comprehensive documentation of all changes will ensure smooth adoption and maintenance.
