A Shiny User Interface to RobStatTM

Project Summary

The goal of this project is to develop a point-and-click graphical user interface (GUI) for the RobStatTM package. Both the UI and package will complement the second edition of Robust Statistics: Theory and Methods (RSTM) by Maronna, R., Martin, R.D., Yohai, V.J., and Salibian-Barrera, M, to be published in 2018. As of now, RobStatTM is only available to R command line users, resulting in a steep learning curve for effective use of the robust methods outlined in RSTM and the RobStatTM package. We believe the inclusion of a UI will allow for a more intuitive approach to understanding robust methods and, thus, lead to a more widespread and effective use of the RobStatTM package in both university courses where these methods are applicable and among practicing statisticians and financial professionals, the latter of which uses R extensively.
